Britney Spears hospitalized again

Troubled pop star Britney Spears was in a Los Angeles hospital on psychiatric hold for the second time in a month on Thursday after being taken from her home by ambulance under a police escort.

According to People : This is the second trip to a hospital this month for Spears. On Jan. 4, she was forced into the hospital following a tense custody standoff involving sons Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1. A court commissioner has since stripped Spears of visitation privileges.

Kevin Federline is "worried" about Britney Spears and feels that the psychiatric hospital is the best place for her right now, a source tells PEOPLE



Meanwhile : Sources at UCLA Medical Center tell TMZ Britney Spears has been classified as "G.D." - Greatly Disabled. That is a huge and dangerous deal. That means the patient is unable to take care of basic needs, such as the acquisition of food, clothing or shelter. Being G.D. is one of the criteria for involuntary commitment.

Several health care professionals tell us Britney has fallen into a "manic state" due to her bipolar disorder. We're also told, she arrived at the hospital this morning at around 2:15 AM but wasn't admitted until 4:15 AM, because she was causing such a scene in the hospital.

Paris Hilton Defends Britney Spears

Paris Hilton says she still keeps in touch with Britney Spears. "I talked to her a couple of days ago and she's doing well," The heiress reveals to The Insider.

"I wish people would just leave her alone. It's hard growing up with the media and everyone following her around. She's such a sweet girl. If people really knew her, they would know that. I love her so much."

Britney Spears' former rehab facility subpoenaed in custody battle

Britney Spears' former rehabilitation facility, Promises Treatment Center, is the latest to be subpoenaed in the custody battle between Britney, 25, and her ex-husband Kevin Federline, 29.

According to a source familiar with the proceedings, Promises Treatment Center was served with a subpoena Saturday morning. This is the fourth subpoena handed out by Kevin's legal team. Earlier in the week, Britney's former assistant Shannon Funk, bodyguard Daimon Shippen, and pal Alli Sims were all served with legal papers.

A source close to the case said,

Kevin and his attorneys Mark Vincent Kaplan and James Simon are on a mission. They are pursuing all relevant evidence from every potential source and every available witness.

A spokesperson from Promises refused to comment, saying,

This is a confidential facility and we cannot comment.

Britney spent a month at Promises and was released on March 21. Her manager at the time said she was 'successfully' released.
According to Pepperdine University Law Professor Steven M. Cron, the Kevin's camp is clearly seeing how Britney took to the Promises stint.

Strategically I don't think they are concerned with the treatment, but how she responded to that treatment. Specifically, if she participated as she was supposed to. Did she have a positive attitude, did she complete it successfully. Or was she a screw up?

Fans of Britney Spears may not see a comeback album anytime soon. Britney's publicist Leslie Sloane told Life & Style magazine the pop queen comeback album delays the release to next year.

In fact she’s been auditioning backup dancers for her special appearance. Those trying out for the spot even got to dance to Brit’s new track. One back up dancer, Sam Pete (25) said, "It was dope. It reminded me of that one song you hear at 1:50 a.m., when they call last call at a club, and it’s the hottest, nastiest song you’ve ever heard in your life and you’ve just got to put your drink down and dance to it. The star’s spokeswoman refused to comment last night but Britney left fans, who paid £250 for bootleg tickets, screaming for more after two short gigs in California.

She mimed to her hits and even treated one man at Anaheim to a lapdance. She was due to appear at LA’s House of Blues last night.

Sources tell NYDN that Joe Simpson wants to become Britney Spears’ manager.
The priest turned creepy dad even tried to set up a meeting with Britney although Jessica’s rep denies this ever happening. However, if this were true, sources play down a potential rivalry between the two, explaining they are no longer competitors. Just like you don’t compete with that guy who spits in your burger.

Sure, he may indirectly give you herpes by putting his own happy in your happy meal, but competitor? No way.

The source added that Joe, a former Baptist minister, also claims responsibility for helping Jessica and Ashlee avoid the obvious excesses of a life in the limelight and hopes to keep Britney away from another relapse requiring further rehab.
