Eddie Murphy - Tracey Edmonds Splits up

Eddie Murphy and television producer Tracey Edmonds have called it quits! Just two weeks after their wedding in French Polynesia.

“After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further.

While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends.”

Actually, the statement is slightly ambivalent. While reports say they are divorcing, are they actually separating, or just avoiding a civil ceremony in America that would make the marriage real?

The couple didn’t live together before the wedding, so perhaps it’s just a simple case of not being able to live in the same house. Moving in together is a huge period of adjustment (that takes longer than two weeks, typically) that not all relationships survive. After all, she already knew about his previous use of transsexual prostitutes, and his failure to acknowledge his latest daughter. What was so awful it prompted a divorce?

Mel B has named Eddie as the father of three-week-old girl Angel Iris Murphy on the birth certificate and says the tot resembles the actor.

WHO’S YOUR DADDY? Mel B has named her baby after her ex, Eddie Murphy, who she claims is the father. She said in an interview with Britain’s OK! magazine: “I look at the baby and she has his big smile and dimples. She’s gorgeous, she has taken the best bits of both of us.”

The relationship was fabulous, she said, until she took the pregnancy test. Murphy was there in the bathroom with her when she got the results of a home pregnancy test.

“He was over the moon,” she tells OK!.

The relationship iced over from that point on. Mel, 31, admits she was devastated by the way Eddie publicly ended their seven-month relationship and demanded a DNA test, but insists she still has “nothing but love” for him.
Mel says she welcomes his challenge to do a DNA test.

She says she has only spoken to Murphy once in the past four months. “I’m sure, at some point, we’ll have to have some contact. The baby needs to be documented, and that needs the father’s signature,” she says.
Brown tells OK! that the couple’s brief (5 month) romance was very serious and developed quickly. “We were soul mates. It was electrifying.”
