Erica Durance is tipped to become every red-blooded bloke’s fantasy babe in a £55million remake of the sizzling sci-fi flick Barbarella.
Erica Durance (born June 21, 1978, in Calgary, Alberta) is a Canadian actress. Although born in Calgary, she was raised in Three Hills, Alberta. She is perhaps best known for her role as Lois Lane on Smallville.
Now she’s set to fly out of this world herself after beating Kate Beckinsale, Scarlett Johansson, and Lindsay Lohan to the coveted role.
But Erica, 28, will have her work cut out if she is to better the raunchy performance of Jane Fonda in the original cult 1968 movie.
Barbarella strips naked in the opening minutes before travelling to a mysterious planet.
There she is attacked by vampire dolls before enjoying a series of erotic experiences. The film, set in the year 40,000, turned Fonda, now 69, into one of Hollywood’s hottest-ever sex symbols.
And Erica, who is wed to actor David Palffy, will be hoping it can do the same for her career.
Currently filming Irvine Welsh’s controversial novel Ecstasy, she is no stranger to baring all for her art. She play as Heather Thompson on 'Ecstasy' a movie by Rob Heydon and will release on 28 March 2008 (Canada). She also as Raine in 2008 seasons.
Last year she graced the front cover of the 200th edition of FHM magazine after readers voted her the 38th sexiest woman in the world.
A Hollywood source said: “The remake of Barbarella is a really big deal in Hollywood.
“Lots of names have been thrown into the mix but Erica looks almost certain to fill the role. This is a big chance for her.” source
